I've recommended the Access course to lots of my friends; two of whom are starting the course this September! I think it makes it a bit easier when you see that other people in your position can do it, it takes away one of the barriers and you feel inspired by other people's achievements.

The course has been brilliant! It was quite a shock going back into education after all this time, but everyone's in the same boat and the tutors are so supportive. The course has given me so much confidence, it taught me how to learn again!

If anyone’s thinking about coming back to college, but is a little apprehensive, either because of their past experiences in education or because of their personal circumstances I would suggest that they come into the college and meet the staff; if you don’t give it a go, you’ll never know! You’re not committing to anything by coming to have a look around; no-one’s going to pressurise you. I think once you’re in the environment and you’ve met the staff you’ll know whether it’s the right thing for you.

I’m really enjoying my course, but I wouldn’t be here without the Access course at New College. All of the tutors were fantastic and so supportive. I owe it all to the tutors at New College taking a chance on me.
