Each New College student has guidance in choosing their individual Personal Learning Programme which includes the main academic subjects or vocational course and choices from the enrichment programme and Key Skills, such as IT.
Enrichment courses provide a broad, general education through a wide choice of options, ranging from pre-driving, video, life-saving and word processing to community service, acting and computing. The opportunities for sport, leisure and academic support are excellent.
New College is committed to sport and college teams have had national success. Individuals with special talents are encouraged: recently New College students have represented county, region and country in a range of sports and events - even the Winter Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
The college also hosts a Football Academy in partnership with Swindon Supermarine and supported by the Wiltshire Football Association, which enables talented youngsters to train and develop with the top local club and continue their academic studies.
