Full-time students who live locally, but more than 3 miles from New College can purchase the Swindon Borough Council Travel Pass or the Wiltshire County Council Travel Pass, which pay for one journey to and from the College each college day for a year. These passes are available free to families on certain benefits.
Special buses bring students from Highworth and the surrounding villages direct to New College in the morning and return in the evening. New College has made arrangements for buses from other villages to stop near the College in the morning and afternoon. Students can take advantage of the special reduced fares offered by companies operating these services.
We also offer an Assisted Travel Scheme for students travelling from outside the area. Students under 18 living in the Swindon area can purchase a half fare travel pass which can be used for any journeys before 10.00pm. We have also negotiated special rates for students who wish to go into Swindon centre during the day.
